BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The weather is getting dry outside, and Kentucky's second forest fire hazard season is right around the corner. From Oct. 1 to Dec. 15, additional burn regulations for Warren County are back in practice. But what does that mean for you? Warren County Emergency Management wants to remind you to only burn natural vegetation during this time, and do not light those fires on a day where the wind speeds are 10 miles per hour or higher. Also stay with the fire until it is completely extinguished. You should burn at least 30 feet away from woodlands, grasslands and structures of any kind. To get a burn permit, you can contact the Bowling Green Fire Department through this link here. And if you live outside of Bowling Green, Warren EMA says to call the Bowling Green Police Department dispatch at 270-393-4244 to let them know about your controlled burn.
